Aircraft Extension Bits are made of the same steel used in bits manufactured for production cutting of tough metals.
These bits are especially suitable for drilling through both metal and wood (including nail embedded wood).
The AIRCRAFT EXTENSION are black in color, manufactured with a 135° Split Ponit and are the same diameter the entire shaft (these are basically just like our Heavy Duty High Speed Jobber Series Bits just extended to 6" or 12" Lengths).
The RIDGBOR AIRCRAFT EXT. BITS are an exclusive bit that has been a favorite amongst experienced journeyman for over 3 decades. The STRAIGHT SHAFT SERIES are polished silver in color, have a 135° Split Point, and are the same diameter the full length up to 60". The REDUCED SHAFT SERIES are made with a slightly deeper angle (118° standard point) and also undergo a secondary machining process which makes this bit unlike any other bit on the market. Before being extended, the HSS bit is machined down, all the way into the bottom of the flute allowing 100% chip clearance and smooth, non-binding penetration.
