Double Expansion Anchors are designed for solid concrete, block, brick, and stone where medium to heavy holding power is required. They are effective under dead, variable and vibrating loads in nearly all types of atmospheric conditions. They are particularly suited for anchoring materials of questionable strength. The double consists of twin tubular sleeves, bound together with high tension spring steel bands, which contain two protruding wedge shaped hollow cones. As the anchor is tightened, the opposing wedges at either end are drawn in tightly pro-viding full length, 360° expansion over a large bearing area. Widely used and most often specified on the East Coast.
